#4121 – Patient God

Good morning people whose God is patient towards you

One thing I have always noticed when reading the story of the children of Israel wandering in the desert, and that is God’s patience with them is amazing! Sure, there were times when enough was enough and judgment followed, but far greater were the number of times that God’s patience was seen.

Exodus 15:23-25a When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?” Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became sweet.

Exodus 16:11-12 The Lord said to Moses, “I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites. Tell them, ‘At twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.’”

What is your view of God’s patience towards you? This is a important question and you need to have an accurate answer.

It is true that we should not abuse God’s grace and His patience with us.

Romans 6:1-2a What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means!

I would never want to live life taking advantage of God’s goodness, knowing that He will forgive me again. This is not only a dangerous way to live, but it is a reflection of a heart that needs to change.

But there are some of you that feel far away and unworthy because you have fallen too many times. You are sure God’s patience must have run out, yet you want to come closer to God. If that is you and you desire a closer walk with God, then it is not too late! Today God stands with arms wide open waiting for you to come home.
