Good morning people who cover other people by not gossiping

1 Corinthians 13:7 NIV It (LOVE) always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Let me start by saying: God is a Protector. He is not a controller or a manipulator – He is a Protector and He always protects.

And I believe we are called to be like Him.

The first thing I see in the Greek is that ‘to protect’ means ‘to cover with silence’.

Too many times, Christians talk about other people and those people’s struggles to other people. This is not protection – this is gossip.

Too many times, we feel “We just need to share this with you, but don’t tell anyone”. This is not protection – this is gossip.

Here’s a simple thought: If someone is not part of the problem or the solution, you shouldn’t ‘share’ with them about someone else if it is potentially damaging.

LOVE always protects; LOVE always covers with silence.
