Good morning people who understand it is God Who makes people great

2 Chronicles 26:16 NIV But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. He was unfaithful to the LORD his God, and entered the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.

If we are not careful, we will think that the strength of our own hands ‘makes us who we are’. This is never more so than in situations where people start from a difficult place, and they ‘make it, despite the odds’.

While I applaud diligence and hard work, anything of eternal value is not because we are great, but because God is great!

It’s God Who promotes. It’s God Who blesses. It’s God Who makes people great.

“Do we see this in our lives?”

“If we do acknowledge God’s goodness and sovereignty in getting us to where we are at, do we continue to walk humbly before Almighty God?”

Pride says, “I did this!”

Humility says, “Without God I am nothing and I can do nothing.”

May we all be people of humility.
