#3298 – God’s Rest

Good morning people who come to Jesus and receive rest for your soul

Thank You Father for the gift of rest.

Rest is a gift because it is something Jesus gives.

Matthew 11:28-30 NIV Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

True, deep and satisfying rest comes from a revelation of Who God is. When our eyes are fixed on Him and our heart is delighting in and receiving from Him, rest is the result; rest is what we receive from Jesus.

Resting from work is essential and biblical, but it is incomplete and not true rest if it doesn’t include and focus on, resting in God.

Rest for our souls is just as important as rest for our bodies. Elijah needed rest for his body (1 Kings 19), but many times we need rest for our souls, and this comes from resting in Jesus.

Thank You Father that Jesus invited us to come to Him and receive the rest that we need for our souls. Today, I accept His kind invitation; I come and I receive; I focus on Him and I think about His goodness. I receive God’s rest for me.
