#2181 – Your Attitude

Good morning people who work with a passionate attitude

Nehemiah 3:20 (NIV) Next to him, Baruch son of Zabbai zealously repaired another section, from the angle to the entrance of the house of Eliashib the high priest.

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, Nehemiah 3 mentions many people who were involved in rebuilding the walls and gates.

But Baruch stands out from the rest. He is the only one whose attitude to work was specifically mentioned. It says ‘Baruch son of Zabbai zealously repaired another section’.

Baruch did his job with obvious passion!

Here’s what the original word means in this verse: to glow, to blaze up, zeal, earnestly.

Doing a job is not the only thing that matters. How you do the job is important.

“Do we just do our job – or do we passionately do our job?”

The truth is how we do what we do reflects our God. Now that’s a challenging thought for us all today. We are reminded of this in the following verse:

Colossians 3:23 (NIV) Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

Do what you do ‘with all your heart’. We are always working for God, and how we work reflects God.

“So how do you do your job? How’s your attitude when you are doing it?
