#1995 – Your Righteousness

Good morning people who walk in the righteousness of God

As we look at what can’t be taken away from us, here’s the second thing that is worth exuberantly celebrating:

Your righteousness in God

Romans 5:17 (NIV) For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive Gods abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

Righteousness means ‘a condition acceptable’. This accurately describes us as God’s children and friends; because we are ‘in Christ’ we are in a condition acceptable to Father God; we are holy, blameless and without fault!!! Oh my goodness gracious me…and this can’t be taken away from us!!!

In Christ, we are clothed in His righteousness. This means, when Father sees us, He sees His Son!!!

“But Steve, what happens if I sin? What then?”

1 John 2:1-2 (NIV) My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Once we are clothed in Christ’s righteousness, we don’t lose our righteousness because of moments of sin! That’s the beauty of grace and the power of what Christ did for us…and it can’t be taken away from us!!!
