#1249 – Redemptive Scar

Good morning people who learn from difficulty

(By David McCracken)

Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Yesterday I shared about how Margaret and I had gone through our “dark night of the soul” when a friend betrayed our trust.

Now let me tell you how Father redeemed that event.

Over the following two years, we were to go through situation after situation that taught us so much about the human heart and its motives, and our responses to life.

As those painful days progressed, the principles and insights Father showed me were recorded and eventually became a four day seminar for Pastors and leaders that has literally transformed the hearts of thousands of people. I speak of the “Leaders of Destiny” series. That’s right, something of great pain was transformed into something of great life and healing for others.

My “wound” became a “redemptive scar”. No longer a thing of open infection and vulnerability, but now a living declaration of that which once was so painful is now a symbol of hope for others.

What an awesome God of grace we serve!

I rejoice in God’s redemptive grace.
