#1209 – Edify Yourself

Good morning people who pray in the Spirit

Paul’s focus in 1 Corinthians 12-14 is on edifying the Church. But in this passage he also gives us some clarity on how to edify and encourage ourselves. One of these ways is to speak in tongues.

1 Corinthians 14:4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

Jesus modelled serving others too, but He also promised the Holy Spirit and the wonderful gifts He brings.

Speaking in tongues is to be desired and I believe it is a vital part of a Believer’s life. It is a spiritual gift given by God.

Mark 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues…
