#1163 – Not Evidence

Good morning people living under a promise

Acts 7:9 Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him.

Your present difficult situation is not evidence that God is not with you. It’s too easy to at times default to a belief that God would not let this happen to me. I think Joseph could have believed this many times over many years. I’m grateful Joseph truly believed in the sovereignty of God, yes even when he was sold by his brothers, into slavery, in a foreign land. Have you ever felt similar?

Your present difficult situation is not necessarily evidence that you have done the wrong thing. Sometimes human nature jumps to wrong conclusions when things aren’t going well in someone’s life. I remember a story from the Bible where a man was blind and people asked if the man sinned or his parents. People like to be able to blame someone or something. Sometimes difficult times and unexplainable challenges happen to good godly people.

Today you need to know that your present difficult situation is not necessarily evidence.

God gave us an amazing promise: I will never leave you nor forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5)

God was with Daniel in the lions den. God was with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace. God was with Paul and Silas in prison. God is with us in all of our difficult situations.

Did you know that even when we do do the wrong thing, God is still with us!

Psalm 139:7-10 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.

I pray you are aware of His presence and His love today.
