#1145 – Bubble Over

Good morning people who have something good to share

Acts 5:42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.

The apostles were so changed by what Jesus had done for them, they could not be silent! They boldly and regularly talked about what God had done in them! They boldly shared how God could change every person’s life, and this is one of the key reasons the early Church saw such rapid growth.

How often do we tell people the good news that Jesus is the Messiah? Notice I said tell people, not just show people.

Without any disrespect to the many wonderful people who have elevated the need for friendship evangelism, I want to speak plain truth today.

People will never be saved through life-style or friendship evangelism alone, it’s impossible. Words must be used.

Jesus used words and spoke the truth plainly all the time. So did the apostles and leaders in the early Church.

For many, life-style or friendship evangelism has become an excuse not to share their faith. At some point, your life-style demands words to point people to Jesus. There are many great people living wonderful lives who do not know Jesus, and therefore, do not point people to Him. Words that point people to Jesus are necessary for every Believer.

I was getting a haircut recently and the lady cutting my hair asked me what I did. I bubbled over talking about what it means to have a relationship with Jesus and it’s not just about being religious. I told her the more I know God the more I love God, just like the more I know my wife Sally the more I love her. This lady said it almost made her cry because she had never heard anyone talk so passionately about something.

When was they last time you passionately shared the good news that Jesus is the Saviour of the world?

It might just be the right time to accompany your great life example with words that help people make a God connection.
