Good morning people with a God focus always

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man (humans; not just males). And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Every person is tempted. And doesn’t it feel that sometimes we are the only one, at least to that degree? But we’re not.

Doesn’t it also feel like the temptation is impossible to conquer? Let’s be honest here today. I don’t think the writer uses the strong word of seized just to be eloquent and wordy. This is how it feels! So many times it feels like we are seized and gripped by temptation. It often feels like a strangle-hold; a grip that we cannot get out of.

Is this how you sometimes feel? Is this how you often feel?

Well God sees that and He knows what you are facing. Don’t forget Jesus suffered intense temptation many times on many levels.

So what is the starting point for overcoming temptation?

“And God is faithful…”

Remember we’ve got to always look for God in His Word, and here He is. He does not get introduced in this passage with a line that leads with And God will judge you when you fall. This verse starts with stating the reality that we will all face temptation, that many times we think we are the only ones who suffer through temptation to the degree that we do…and then immediately it lifts our focus, our attention, our gaze to GOD!

AND GOD IS FAITHFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure temptation can feel relentless, BUT God is more relentless in pouring out His love, favour, mercy, grace and goodness on us who believe! God is greater and God is faithful.

Today, lift up your eyes and behold the goodness and faithfulness of your God. Let’s push this deeper tomorrow.
