Good morning people who aren’t defined by your moments

3 John 1:2 NKJV Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

The word ‘prosper’ is synonymous in this verse with ‘a successful journey’. I’m sure glad it isn’t synonymous with ‘moments’!

Too many times we allow moments to define us or detail us. Yet apart from the moment we became a new creation, no other single moment has the power to define or derail.

I love this verse that well and truly covers moments that try to take over our identity and our destiny:

Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

You are defined by Christ, not by crisis. Today is a new day in God, with mercies, compassions and faithfulness awaiting you. Shake off the shackles of yesterday’s regrets and mistakes – that is not who you are!
