Good morning people who give thanks to the One who is the Prince of Peace.
Colossians 3:15 NIV Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
Here’s my last day on this one verse, but it’s an important day. Let’s lean in together.
There is an inseparable connection between peace and thankfulness.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
A thankful person will be a person at peace. I feel like the Lord is saying to me, “Don’t overcomplicate this!”
What part does thankfulness have in your life?
Are you thankful to God on a daily basis?
Is your speech marked by continual thankfulness?
If not, this might just be the biggest reason for a lack of peace.
Once again, the apostle Paul wrote about this often, and many times, it was while he was in prison.
Philippians 4:6-7 NIV Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Do you see the connection in these verses between thanksgiving in every situation and the peace of God guarding our hearts and minds in Christ? It’s powerful and very clear!
Rejoicing and thanksgiving are inseparable too!
Philippians 4:4 NIV Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
I know you want to do the will of God today. I do too. So, here it is:
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
It’s time to give thanks in all circumstances. Today is your day to step deeper into the peace of God that is available to you in the Prince of peace.
Isaiah 9:6 NIV For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
