Good morning people who are rightly positioned by the Father in the body of Christ.

Colossians 3:15 NIV Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 

Have you ever wondered what your calling is?

Amongst other things, you are called to peace!

It is incredible to know that God wants us to walk in peace. Amidst difficulty, pain and suffering, peace is a marker of the fruit of the Spirit and the kingdom of God in our lives.

Galatians 5:22-23 NIV But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 

Romans 14:17-18 NIV For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.

As members of one body you were called to peace.

Every member of the body is called to peace; that’s you and that’s me.

The one body made up of many members is called to peace; that’s the one body of Christ globally.

One of the things that grieves the heart of the Father is the “them and us” mentality that is prevalent in the one body of Christ. Even the early apostles had a challenge with this. There were times when they told Jesus that the people down the road were not of them.

Mark 9:38-40 NIV “Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.” “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us.

Here’s a powerful truth that Father wants to come back front and centre in our hearts and minds:

John 13:34-35 NIV “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

How strong and evident is your love for the body of Christ?

Do you celebrate others in the body who are different to you?
