Good morning people who died to Christ and now live by His resurrection power.

Colossians 2:20-23 NIV Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

One of Paul’s often-stated truths by the leading of the Holy Spirit is the spiritual reality of our new birth in Christ Jesus.

Since you died with Christ.

These five words must go deeper in our heart through divine revelation. Being saved does not improve our old way of living. Being saved is a literal dying to self and becoming alive in Christ.

Salvation involves death before it involves life, and all of this is by God’s grace through our faith.

Grace changes everything! Once, we were all slaves to sin. Much focus was on trying to obey external rules and regulations. Much of this is good for us, but following rules is not what makes us right in the eyes of God.

Human rules lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

People can follow rules and yet not follow God. People’s best does not provide the power to overcome the pull towards the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. We need the Person and the power of the Holy Spirit in our hearts and lives!

Salvation is a heart response to the goodness of God.

It is our heart that God desires. Our Father in heaven has always wanted sons and daughters who live in His love, and due to an overflowing deep gratitude, love Him back with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength.
