Good morning people who give your attention to what is true from God’s Word.
I recently found myself writing down this statement:
I can’t afford to give my attention to inferior thinking on anything at any time.
I am sure that we all agree that there is a battle on for our minds. What we think about and how we think about something can either contribute to making us or breaking us.
You might have heard me say this before but let me say it again:
Not everything that gets my attention should be given my attention.
One of the greatest lies of the enemy is that we have no control over what we think about. The evidence to us seems to back up this lie.
But the following verses declare the truth and we must learn to give our attention to them.
1 Corinthians 2:16b NIV …But we have the mind of Christ.
Colossians 3:2 NIV Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Romans 12:2 NIV Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Sometimes it feels like we can’t think right; that we can’t think biblically and in the Spirit. But here is what God’s Word declares:
2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Here’s my prayer for us all today:
Matthew 22:37 NIV Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
