Good morning people who are empowered to always live fully led by the Holy Spirit.
Luke 4:1-2 NIV Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.
Jesus left the place of His baptism and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.
Have you ever felt life was like that; you left a place of deep encounter with God and returned to a difficult situation or season?
Difficult situations or seasons and wilderness times are not a sign that you are in the wrong place. Jesus was exactly where the Holy Spirit led Him. Jesus was therefore in the right place.
Surely then, it was going to be awesome, wonderful and delightful there, right?
Jesus was tempted by the devil for forty days and he was hungry.
Life in the Holy Spirit includes both Jordan experiences of baptism with an open heaven, as well as wilderness times of heavy temptation and physical struggles.
Temptation is not a sign that you are weak or sinful. Jesus was neither and He faced intense opposition from the devil relentlessly day after day.
And yet, Jesus was still following the Holy Spirit and fully submitted to the Father.
We must guard against a worldly view of God that paints Him as the ‘good times only God, otherwise, He is not God.” It is almost like the “Santa Clause God who exists to give me what I want.” This is not a biblical view of God.
In every moment and in every place, Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit and He led by the Holy Spirit.
We are called to live like Jesus.
