Good morning people who prioritise the spiritual transaction of water baptism.

Luke 3:21 NIV When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened.

Three things happened: Jesus was baptised, Jesus prayed, and heaven was opened.

Baptism is much more than a physical act of obedience. Baptism truly is a spiritual moment of encounter with God. Baptism that is combined with prayer is powerful. It is so much more than many people realise.

Have you been baptised in water?

Biblically, we see repentance of sin and water baptism go hand in hand. By this, we are talking about the day of our salvation.

Acts 2:38 NIV Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 8:35-36 NIV Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?”

Water baptism is a spiritual transaction where we exchange all of our old life for the new life that is found in Jesus Christ. We exchange all of our sin, shame, guilt and brokenness, and by faith, we receive, pick up and step into being born again as a new creation that is marked by all things becoming new!

When we repent, and when we are baptised and pray, our lives are forever changed.
