Good morning people who find your place in God’s much larger picture and plan.
Joshua 1:1-3 NIV After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.
Some of the things that God wants us to step into today were promised to those who have preceded us.
Respectfully, not everything is about us. Equally, not everything started with God speaking to us. Oh, let’s lean in!
The starting point for God giving clear instructions to Joshua was connected to God’s covenant and relationship with Moses. The start of Joshua 1 was not the start of God’s commitment to the children of Israel. God had been working and God continued to work!
God is a generational God! From the beginning, God created mankind in His image and in His likeness. He blessed them and He commissioned them. From the start, God’s intention was partnership with man from the foundation of relationship with man. This is God’s way.
God’s plan was not just to be the God and Friend of Adam, but of Cain and Abel and Seth.
God reveals Himself as the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob (Exodus 3:6). Interestingly, God was speaking to Moses at the time, and it was in the context of delivering the Israelites out of slavery and taking them into the Promised Land.
And here’s what I am saying:
There is a thread of God’s divine purpose that preceded us and yet it includes us!
I have a sense that Father wants us to find our place in His larger plan.
For some of you, I believe the Lord wants you to revisit what He has said to your parents or your grandparents. For others who do not come from a godly heritage, there are still declarations (including many in the Bible) that you are linked into and called to live from.
Ask God to show you your part in His story. The picture is larger than you think!
