Good morning people who run into the safety of the Lord God Almighty.

The Lord our God is our refuge!

Psalm 46:1-3 NIV God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

We all need a safe place to go in difficult times. God Himself is the safest place for the human heart. As a ship seeks safety in a sheltered bay, so too does a believer seek safety in the Almighty God.

We will have troubles in life. It’s not a statement we want to hear, but for every person, it is a reality. We must remember that Jesus told us that this would be so. But in the same verse, He points us to Himself as our Source in these times.

John 16:33 NIV “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Our peace is in Christ, and so too is our refuge and our strength. He is greater than and has overcome the world and all that it could ever dish up. The worst of the worst is no power against the Best, and His name is Jesus!

In our opening scripture for today, it lists some pretty serious troubles: Though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

Even if this were to happen, we do not need to fear because we can run into and be kept safe in the heart of our great God! He is an ever-present help in trouble. Ever-present; always and forever present. Emmanuel; God with us!
