Good morning people who never reduce God down to a quantifiable explanation.
Exodus 3:13-14 NIV Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”
The Bible gives us many names for God, and they are all true and accurate.
God is Love. God is Emmanuel, Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God. God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.
When Moses was talking with God about going and delivering the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, Moses was concerned about who he should say had sent him. This is interesting. So, he asked God what His name was.
God simply replies, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”
This speaks to me of a name beyond words. It speaks to me of a God beyond natural articulation. It speaks to me about God being infinite. And I love this about God!
What you need is found in who God is because there is literally no limit to who He is. Whatever you can imagine about God, He is more. Whatever you believe God is able to do, He can do more.
Why?
Because He is more! God is without limit!
And He is in you and He is for you. Now, that’s good news.
