Good morning people who answer the Lord when He calls your name.
Let’s go one more day on these four verses from Exodus.
Exodus 3:1-4 NIV Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.” When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”
Moses stepped towards a strange and unexplainable sight because he was at the place of encounter with God. And it was in this place that God spoke and that Moses responded.
Do you take time to listen to what God is saying to you?
God speaks through His Word. God speaks by His Spirit. God speaks through other people.
I am fully convinced that if God wants to get our attention, He can get our attention. He most definitely got Moses’ attention!
But the purpose of this encounter was not just for Moses to have a great testimony to tell of a bush that was on fire that did not burn up. Your encounter is not just for a great testimony.
The encounter was for the purpose of commission!
But before Moses heard the commission, he had to respond to his name being called by God.
What do you do when God calls your name?
My prayer is for us all to live in a place of encountering God, hearing God and answering God.
My prayer is that from this place, we all know God’s holy commission to us and that we fulfill it for the glory of God.
