Good morning people who focus more on LOVE than on gifts

1 Corinthians 13:2 NIV If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have LOVE, I am nothing.

This verse highlights LOVE is more important than gifts.

The truth is, due to the generosity of God Who gives gifts without taking them back (Romans 11:29), sometimes people can have obvious gifts that impress others, yet still show a lack of LOVE and genuine concern for the people they are ‘ministering’ to.

The reason this is so sad is because the sole purpose of the gifts is to be a vehicle that accurately reflects and reveals the LOVE of the Father.

The gifts of God are never the goal – the LOVE of God is.

My question to us all today is not, “How are your spiritual gifts?”, but, “Is LOVE the motivation and evidence of your spiritual gifts?”
