Good morning people who don’t give leftovers to other people

The Christmas through to New Year’s Eve season is a season where we spend a lot of time with people. This is fantastic because relationships are important to God.

I would like to take this opportunity to share some thoughts from God’s Word about relationships, and I pray we are all encouraged to love others as Jesus loves us.

I believe God wants us to be generous people because He is a generous God. 

The word ‘generous’ means: ‘a readiness to give more’.

This describes God so well, but it also portrays Jesus’ commandment to us about relationships.

Matthew 5:41 (NIV) If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.

Our focus should not be to get away with giving as little as possible – this is not what Jesus did for us.

I believe we are called to be ‘extra mile people’; people who give our best, just as our God did for us.
