Good morning identifiers with Christ

1 Corinthians 10:16 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?

What does this mean?

This is talking about the depth of what happens when we take communion. It is more than a mere acknowledgement of what God has done. It is not from the place of looking in from the outside. To understand we need to understand what this says and take it in counsel with the rest of the Word of God.

The word ‘participation’ here in the NIV is the word ‘communion’ in the KJV. ‘Communion’ means ‘partnership, participation’ and even goes as deep as saying ‘social intercourse
