Good morning faith-filled people of God
Mark 8:22-25 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When He had spit on the man’s eyes and put His hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?” He looked up and said, “I see people, they look like trees walking around.” Once more Jesus put His hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
I have always desired to see people healed from physical challenges. I have prayed for many and seen few results (I’m being very honest). But I will not cease praying for people because I know it’s God who does the miracles, not me.
But as I read this passage, I see a few things that stir my faith and instruct me on how to pray for the sick.
Firstly, God sometimes will ask us to do something out of the ordinary when we pray for the sick. I’ve never spat on a blind man’s eyes as I prayed for them, but Jesus did.
Now I think some people might take this to an extreme. Some people live in the weird zone and call it spiritual. I’m not judging anyone, but I do want to simply say that anything we do needs to be out of hearing God tell us to do it.
While some may be extreme, many of us live too much in the comfort zone. God’s ways are different and can’t always be explained, but He always knows what He is doing. We need to listen to what God says and do it
