#887 – The Journey

Good morning people on a journey

(By Kevin Forlong)

It is a real privilege for me to have this opportunity to share with you via BIY – thanks Steve.

During this next week I want to share with you some thoughts about what I call the ‘art’ of walking with God. Over many years I have discovered that there are some things that are critical for us to understand if we are going to successfully walk through life with God. I trust this series will be a blessing to you.

What is it like and what is required to do the journey with God and His people?

Psalm 84:5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.

When we come to Christ we begin a journey, the journey of life with God and His people. There are many who come to Christ but never fully commit to doing the journey and because of that they never emerge into all God has for them.

God’s intention for us as we do this journey is always that we be transformed!

It’s not just that we need to recognise we have begun a journey when we first come to Christ, but that we need to set our hearts on that as a lifestyle. A heart committed to doing the journey; the mindset and attitude of a pilgrim; going somewhere; not settling down; a traveller; not an aimless ‘wanderer’ but people on a journey, walking into an ever greater fulfilment of God-given destiny and purpose . The vision pulling you into your destiny!

It is a journey and transitioning into all God has for us, and it does not take place in a moment of time. There is a process, just as summer fades into autumn and then eventually into winter. God works like that in our lives
