Was God sovereign in Paul and Silas’ life?
Paul and Silas were two great men of God. They loved and served God faithfully. They proclaimed the Good News with boldness…and they ended up being beaten terribly and treated harshly in a disgusting prison!
Paul and Silas’ story speaks to all those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake. Even in these difficult times, God is still sovereign.
I believe one of the most debilitating misconceptions in the Body of Christ today is that if we are serving God, then He will always look after us and protect us and nothing bad will ever happen to us. This is simply not true…but it is not because God has stepped off His throne and put aside His sovereignty. It’s because we see through human eyes and have limited spiritual perception.
God can turn our most difficult situations into a testimony of God’s love, if we keep our hearts in faith and trust in Him.
