#756 – God Fights

Good morning dearly loved of God

Exodus 14:21-25 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea. During the last watch of the night the Lord looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion. He made the wheels of their chariots come off so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, “Let’s get away from the Israelites! The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt.”

I love this! I love this! I love this! Here we see the Lord fighting on behalf of the Israelites. What He did for them, He can do for us!

When David was about to take on Goliath, a formidable foe, here’s what he said.

1 Samuel 17:47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give all of you into our hands.

We do not battle alone; God is with us! The battle is not ours; it is the Lord’s!

When we are instructed to fight spiritual battles in Ephesians, the foundation of this passage on the armour of God is verse 10.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.

Then there’s this truth:

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Friends, listen to me today:

Romans 8:31 If God is for us, who can be against us?

We’re on the winning side!
