Good morning people with a heart for God

Exodus 1:12 The more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread.

This sounds like the Church in non-Western countries. This sounds like the persecuted Church around the world today. There seems to be a philosophy among Christians facing oppression ‘this will make us stronger and we will shine brighter’.

Not so in the Western world. Pressure seems to make us shrink back in intimidation and fear. Oppression, should we face any, seems to weaken our faith, not strengthen it. Why is this? What is the difference? What can we learn from our persecuted brothers and sisters?

I believe we are all called to be martyrs. We are all called to ‘deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Christ.’ Persecuted Christians fully understand this and fully embrace it.
