Good morning people who think right
Our thinking determines our relationship with God. If our thoughts are wrong, our relationship will be weakened. If our thoughts are right, our relationship can grow stronger.
2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
This verse contains very strong language and it’s based on what we think. Notice the strong language is not based around our lifestyle but our knowledge of God. This is so important because living right comes best out of knowing God better.
Is there a place for decisive action in our lives? Yes, absolutely. But the first place, the most important place, this decisive action is needed is in our thinking. Our commitment in life should be – ‘anything in life that would stop me knowing God better has got to go NOW!’ We shouldn’t suggest wrong thinking to leave and we shouldn’t reason with it. We need to demolish it! We need to take every wrong thought captive!
And we need to take it captive and make it obedient to Christ. In other words, bring all of our thinking in line with Christ’s teaching and life, which is found in God’s Word. How much of God’s Word do you know and meditate on?
This is war we are talking about and too often the casualty is our relationship with God. It’s time to be aggressive in protecting our minds so we can grow in our knowledge of God.
