Good morning those who pray for unsaved friends
I am about to mention something that may be difficult for some but I feel it is important for us to think about today. Many of us know people who died without a relationship with God. This is devastating. I empathise with all those who have suffered this deep loss. May God strengthen our hearts.
I also feel compelled today to place before us all the need to pray earnestly for those who don’t know Christ. They need to know Him before they die. Our prayers may be the catalyst for this happening.
Recently in Melbourne, a high profile gang member was murdered. There was a lot of talk about the life that he lived and how much pain he had caused to so many people. The church was booked for the funeral and I heard the priest announce on the news that he was there to ‘support the family in their time of grief and to pray for Carl Williams’.
I feel impressed to encourage us to pray for those who don’t know Christ, but to pray for them while they are still alive. While people have breath, they still have the opportunity of entering into the greatest relationship of all; a relationship with the living and loving God who created them.
Do you have friends who don’t know God? Do you have family who don’t know God? Please pray for them. All I can say is, for their sake, for heaven’s sake, pray for them and may the precious Holy Spirit reveal Christ to them.
