Good morning people living for God
The one true God is in perfect unity with each other. Now understand what I am saying here. I’m not saying they mostly agree on most things like we would expect of those in unity. No, God is in perfect, total, complete unity on every issue with each other all the time. They are one.
Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
God is in such unity there is no different between the use of ‘I’ and ‘us’. Think about that for a minute. My wife and I are deeply in love (hi Sal) but whenever I am speaking to someone else I use ‘I’ when talking just about me and ‘us’ when I am talking about both of us. I can’t truthfully say ‘We went to the city’ if only I went. Conversely it is incomplete for me to exclude Sal’s involvement in something if I speak about something only using the word ‘I’. Yet with God, ‘I’ is ‘us’ and ‘us’ is ‘I’.
John 14:6-11 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ’Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.
John 17:11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your Name
