Good morning people with a loving God
Genesis 3:8-10 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”
I see two things clearly in this passage.
Firstly man’s response to an awareness of sin is to naturally try and hide from God. We feel exposed and unworthy. We often feel ashamed. Many times our thoughts are that of God being angry with us and a belief that He wants nothing more to do with us. We all have a natural inclination to try and hide, or at least withdraw from God when we sin (fall short and miss the mark).
Maybe you find yourself in this place today. You are very aware of your failure and your shortcoming. You have pulled back from God because of a feeling of unworthiness. You don’t like where you are but you’re not sure how to move forward. Let me share with you some good news.
God’s response to mankind when we fall short, try to cover it up and then hide from Him is to come looking for us; to seek us out. God is not angry with you; He loves you. God does not want to be separated from you; He desperately desires a close relationship. God by His very nature is a Restorer, a Redeemer and a Forgiver of sins. His heart is still for you, not against you.
Today if you would reach out to Him, I know He will reach out to you. You are not too far from the grace of God. You are hearing Him right now. He is tugging on your heart. He knows what you’ve done but the greater thing in His mind is what you can become. But it can only be as you receive His love, His grace and His forgiveness. Never forget God’s grace is greater than your sin. God loves you very much. I pray you receive from Him all that you need today.
