Good morning people who walk blameless before the Lord

God was doing miracles in the lives of the Israelites. Their enemies were in fear of them and they were getting ready to take Jericho. It’s in this time of favour and blessing that we see the following.

Joshua 5:2 At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelites again.”

When the Bible talks about being circumcised, it is a symbol of removing the flesh that hinders. As we live life, there will be things that God reveals to us that we need to deal with. We need to posture our hearts daily to the leading of the Holy Spirit so we can hear Him when He speaks. We need to let Him search our hearts and reveal things that need to be dealt with and cut off. It’s too easy to get caught up in life and one day realise, “Hey, I’m a little off-course.” The Bible tells us ‘it’s the little foxes that spoil the vine’ (Song of Solomon 2:15). When God does speak, let’s deal with things quickly and completely and then move forward in God.

Here’s three other things you might want to look at further yourself on this subject.

1. Joshua 5:6 Disobedience to God’s Word will stop us possessing that which was promised to us.

2. Joshua 5:7 If we disobey God’s Word, those that come after us will fully inherit what should have been ours and theirs.

3. Joshua 5:8 Dealing with the flesh can take its toll; healing is required.

Stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to reveal, heal and lead you forward in truth and grace.
