Good morning people with a supernatural God

Have you ever noticed that when you ask God for a miracle, He often makes the impossible more impossible before He answers your prayer? I think this is absolutely cool about God!!!

A great example is the story of Lazarus (John 11). His family asked Jesus to heal him when he was sick. Jesus could have done that and it would have been a great miracle. But Jesus waited until Lazarus was dead and then raised him up!

And then there’s God’s people who understand this awesomeness of God and live life the same way. Remember Elijah and the 450 prophets of Baal? (1 Kings 18) They had a competition to see who could call down fire and burn up their sacrifice. This was impossible! Fire doesn’t just materialise from nothing! But Elijah said “This is too easy! I know, let’s pour huge amounts of water all over my offering so that the impossible becomes more impossible!!!” That’s boldness! That’s faith! That’s trust in God!

Now let’s go back to our story in Joshua and see a little detail that God included for the stretching of our faith.

Joshua 3:15-16 Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away…

If parting a huge river wasn’t impossible enough, God thought, “Hey let’s do it a flood time!” I reckon God must enjoy Himself thinking of ways to show Himself strong on our behalf. You go God!!!

So you have an impossible situation…what a great opportunity for God to do the impossible!
