Good morning Spirit-led people of God
Joshua 3:3-4 When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priest, who are Levites, carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about a thousand yards between you and the ark; do not go near it.
Many times God wants to direct people who are moving. You know the old saying. ‘If you want a job done well, give it to a busy person’. I think God looks favourably on those who are diligent.
But there are times where we need to WAIT for the Holy Spirit’s leading and guiding before we move. We see Jesus’ instruction to the disciples to wait in the upper room until the Holy Spirit came upon them. In this passage above we see the same direction given as we understand the typology of the ark of the covenant.
Do you find yourself in such a time?
One of the greatest enemies to us waiting for God’s leading is impatience. Oh how easy it is to wait while tapping our feet impatiently thinking “I wonder if God knows what He is doing? Why is He not saying anything?”
Do we know better than Almighty God? We can trust Him; He is never late and He always knows what He is doing.
