Good morning people who allow your curiosity to lead you to encounter with God.
Exodus 3:1-4 NIV Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.” When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”
I believe that we are all created with the inclination towards curiosity.
Think about a little child. They are curious about everything. They want to know how this works and why that happens. They love to ask the three-letter word of why to the point of their parents annoyance. You don’t have to foster curiosity in people.
But you do need to direct curiosity.
Moses saw something that did not make sense. He was at the mountain of God, and by way of context, he was in a meeting place with God.
So, what should he do if something strange was taking place? Should he run away or should he step towards?
Moses stepped towards the strange sight, and it was when the Lord saw that he had gone over to look that God spoke to him from within the burning bush.
I hear the Lord say to some of you today:
Don’t fear what you can’t explain.
Not everything strange is of God – let’s be clear on that. But some of the strange things are from God.
If understanding is your criteria, there are things of God that you will miss out on.
Will you step back or will you step forward?
