#6036 – The Heart of God

Good morning people who cry out to the Lord in the times of trouble.

Exodus 2:23-25 NIV During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.

I see the caring and compassionate heart of God the Father in this passage of scripture. This was His heart for the children of Israel, and it is also His heart for you my friends.

I don’t know why God’s intervention sometimes takes a lot longer than we would like. I don’t know why the enemy seems to wreak so much devastation in the lives of God’s children at times. Like you, I have plenty of questions.

But I also see that there are pivotal moments in time like what we read in these verses.

The cry of the Israelites got God’s attention. Their petition and cries of desperation touched the heart of the Father in heaven.

We read that God heard their groaning. God hears your anguish too.

God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. As a child of God, He has made a covenant with you too. He has plans and purposes that include you. He sees you as an heir of His and as a co-heir with Christ.

God looked on the Israelites; His eyes were turned towards them. God sees you too.

God was concerned about them; He was moved with compassion for His children. God is moved with compassion for you too today. He cares.

May the Lord do something deep and wonderful in your life as you call upon Him in your time of need.
