#6033 – Growth in Affliction

Good morning people who believe that God is working in you in difficult seasons.

During the time of Joseph, the Israelites were favoured in Egypt. But many years later after Joseph had died, this drastically changed. Favour turned to intense persecution.

Exodus 1:12 NKJV But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were in dread of the children of Israel.

Multiplication and growth are not reserved for the easy times. In fact, more often than not, the greatest growth is in times of opposition.

The early church spread rapidly under intense persecution.

Acts 8:1 NIV And Saul approved of their killing him. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.

The church was scattered, but this did not lead to their decline, but to the fulfilment of what Jesus prophesied.

Acts 1:8 NIV But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Your times of trouble are not to destroy you. God is working in you.

Galatians 6:9 NIV Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

We would not be exhorted to not become weary and to not give up if it was easy. Many times, life is extremely difficult. But it is in these seasons that we can grow more into the likeness of Christ.

I pray that by the grace of God and by your unwavering trust in Him, this year will result in much kingdom fruit in and through your submitted life.
