#6031 – What People Need

Good morning people who are the hands and feet and heart of Jesus to the world.

My heart is being pulled by the Father to what people need in each moment.

Cliches don’t cut it. A ‘one size fits all’ approach is not helpful. A default ‘this is what I say in this situation’ is not always in alignment with what the Father is doing.

It’s time to listen well to the Holy Spirit in each moment.

What do you say or do when someone’s loved one passes away?

The answer is not found in a script, but in the leading of the Holy Spirit.

People need an encounter with people who care. People who care listen and love and hug and cry with people who are grieving. People who care don’t need to know what to say or do. People who care need to do just that – care.

I have a simple prayer for us all today:

Father, please move our hearts with your love and compassion. May we feel what You feel for each person we speak to today. May You give us the words that You want us to say. May they know Your love through us. Lead us Lord we pray, in Jesus’ name.

Matthew 9:36 NIV When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

John 11:33-35 NIV When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. Jesus wept.

Romans 12:15 NIV Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
