Good morning people who understand that God is doing a deeper work in you.

Recently a friend of mine (Lisa Grant) made a statement that was a rhema word. I received it for me, but I know it is for many of you as well. Here’s what Lisa said:

“I sense we are in a season of learning how to operate in our God given authority, and sense that when it is tough, it’s an opportunity for God to upgrade us to the next level, not just in authority but also in peace.” 

This is profound!

We have been empowered through Jesus to walk in God-given kingdom authority. This is not just for the bold and the outgoing – this is for every submitted follower of Jesus Christ. We honour God when we walk in His delegated authority.

We need to understand that we are all growing in this. Walking in God’s authority is not automatic – it needs to be developed – and it is developed most in times when things are difficult. Jesus developed His authority in the wilderness when the devil tempted Him for forty days.

This is all true, but I really love the line from Lisa that says this upgrade to the next level is not just in authority but also in peace. Oh how good our God is!

There is a peace that comes when we know God is working and that He has won! There is a peace that comes from resisting the devil and watching him flee from us. There is a peace that comes when we sense God’s smile because we have not cast away our confidence.

May this word release life and hope in you today. May this word be our reality as we head into a New Year. May we know and walk in the peace of God in Jesus’ name.
