Good morning people who are led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit.
Don’t confuse God’s leading with your position.
Many times we get confused about whether we have been led by God or not based on our current position. When we go through difficult and trying circumstances and devastating situations we can wrongly conclude that we are off track and that we didn’t hear the Holy Spirit.
Luke 4:1-2 NIV Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.
The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness, not out of the wilderness.
Jesus’ position – in a dry and barren wilderness – was because of the Holy Spirit’s leading.
But we must keep on reading God’s Word to find out what was accomplished in the wilderness.
Luke 4:14 NIV Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside.
Being led into the wilderness by the Spirit resulted in Jesus emerging from the wilderness in the power of the same Holy Spirit who had led Him there!
God knows what He is doing, and He is masterful about leading us into positions that heighten our dependence upon Him. But be assured, these are not wasted times, but rather, they are developing and equipping times.
The wilderness might just be the time when you grow the most in God.
