Good morning people whose lives spill over onto those whom you love.

Genesis 47:5-6 NIV Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Your father and your brothers have come to you, and the land of Egypt is before you; settle your father and your brothers in the best part of the land. Let them live in Goshen. And if you know of any among them with special ability, put them in charge of my own livestock.”

This is a stunning passage of scripture!

Joseph was blessed and highly favoured by God because of the integrity of his life. Even in the midst of betrayal and being forgotten, Joseph flourished because of God’s favour.

We can understand this part of the story: honour God and He will cause His favour to rest on you.

But how about the next part; the part in our scripture today.

God released favour on Joseph’s brothers who had betrayed him and sold him as a slave!!

The favour that was on Joseph overflowed onto his wayward family!

Do you have loved ones far from God?

I declare the favour of God to overflow on them today in Jesus’ name.

May what is on you touch their lives and connect them with the everlasting God of love.

May this Christmas bring with it the return of many prodigals and the salvation of those who have never believed!

May this season be marked by new life and abundant life in the Lord God Almighty!

And we pray: Do it Lord in Jesus’ name! Amen!
