#6009 – Abundant Favour

Good morning people who keep your heart soft towards the Lord in every season.

Genesis 41:37-41 NIV The plan seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his officials. So Pharaoh asked them, “Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?” Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you.” So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.”

Oh, this story is inspiring!

Once again, we see the favour of God on Joseph. But don’t forget where he is. He is in a foreign country where he has lived as a slave and then he was falsely imprisoned. Now he has been brought out by the king to interpret his dreams.

In this place, Joseph operates in prophetic interpretation and in the gift of wisdom. But the point that keeps on grabbing my attention is how verbal Joseph was about Who the Source of all of this revelation and wisdom is – it is the Lord God Almighty!

Pharaoh even makes the statement about the Spirit of God being in Joseph.

How did he know this?

Because Joseph told Pharaoh! He was unashamed about his relationship with the Lord. In fact, even after many years of deep pain and suffering, Joseph still had a sweet spirit towards the Lord and an attentive ear to His God. This is an example worth learning from.

What is the fragrance of your life in times of great difficulty?

Is your heart soft and tender towards the Lord?
