#576 – Clear Conscience

Good morning people forgiven and free

Hebrews 9:9 This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshipper.

There’s nothing worse than a guilty conscience. When we have done something wrong, we often feel guilty, and so we should. But should that guilt last forever? At what point can our consciences be clear?

With the Old Testament sacrifices for sin, guilt remained (what a horrible thought!). But with Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, provision has been made for not only our sin to be removed, but also our guilt. This is awesome news!

Hebrews 9:14 The blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

Romans 8:1 There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (those who live by the Spirit and not by the flesh)

Having a clear conscience is ours legally once we are forgiven. But the enemy doesn’t give up without a fight. We must fight stronger than him though and that is through an unshakeable acceptance and declaration of God’s Word. Declare what God’s Word says about you and your situation, not what you feel. You are forgiven! You are free! Your conscience has been cleansed! It’s time to walk on.
