#5703 – Active Pursuit

Good morning people who earnestly desire to know the heart and mind of God.

Proverbs 2:1-5 MEV My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seekher as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

The highlighted words in the verses above paint a clear picture of our heart posture towards knowing God and entering into His wisdom.

There is nothing passive about our pursuit of God and His holy ways. There is a desperate need for hungering and thirsting after God and His kingdom ways. This is normal Christianity.

I hear the Lord speak to me about dialing down competing voices. There is too much clutter in too many people’s lives. The informational input is so high, but it is often from sources that are contrary to the Word and the ways of God.

How much time do you spend saturating in the Word of God with a focused prayer of “speak to me Lord and reveal Yourself to me”?

When God speaks, do you receive His words into your heart and allow them to filter into and redefine every part of your belief system and ways of thinking?

Are you casual in your approach to God’s wisdom through His Word and His Spirit, or like the writer of Proverbs says, do you cry out for knowledge and seek her and search for her as for hidden treasure?

Posture matters. Pursuit matters.

God matters. Wisdom matters.
