Good morning people who speak the heart of God
I recently received an e-mail from someone who is deeply hurting. She poured out her heart in desperation. I wanted to help her so I asked myself what I should say. I stopped and asked “What would God want to say to her?”
That’s the question for all of us, every conversation and every day.
What would God say to your boss who is giving you a hard time?
What would God say to your friend who is emotionally hurting?
What would God say to the person who crashed into the back of your car?
What would God say to your teenager who directly defies you?
What would God say to your fellow Christian who hurt you?
What would God say?
And then there’s, how would He say it? Would He simply speak the truth, even if it hurts someone and have the attitude of ‘just get over it’? Or would He always speak in love? Would He address the issue (if it really needed to be addressed) and not attack the person? What would God say and how would He say it?
I wonder if that was our filter, would we say things differently? Would we hurt and offend people less?
Colossians 4:6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
