Good morning people whose lives are accurate signposts to God.
Jesus came to be a witness about and a signpost to His Father. Jesus talked about His Father often, and through encountering Jesus, many encountered the love of the Father.
Our lives are to be no different.
Acts 1:8 NIV “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
2 Corinthians 5:17-19 NIV Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
Through the blood and the name of Jesus, we have been reconciled – returned to favour with – the Father. Our lives have been eternally changed because we had the privilege of hearing the good news about Jesus through someone who was a witness concerning God. Someone talked about Jesus, and we were saved.
Now it’s our turn and it is our time to be a witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Silence is an enemy of people hearing the gospel. Yes, we must live lives that show what God is like, but like Jesus, we must also preach the gospel. This holy call to be a witness of God is for every believer. Sharing our faith in God should be the overflow of our grateful heart.
I declare: This is a year of reclaiming being an active witness of the good news of Jesus Christ.
