#5672 – Reclaiming Excellence

Good morning people who purpose to do everything for the glory of the Lord God Almighty.

Recently, a wonderful man of God highlighted to me the difference between excellence and perfectionism. Too often, we confuse the two, and rather than life flowing, condemnation attacks.

Our perfection – our completion – comes from Christ and what He accomplished for us on the cross of Calvary. We truly have all that we need in the person of our Lord and King!

And as an act of gratitude to receiving this incredible and underserved gift from God, our response is excellence in all that we do.

Colossians 3:17 NIV And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Colossians 3:23-24 NIV Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

If we can’t do something for the glory of God, we shouldn’t be doing it. While this is direct, it is right. While we see sections and compartments in our life, God only sees one life. And it is this one life that Jesus died for, and it is this one life that is to be fully lived for the glory of God.

When we work, we are working for the Lord. When we play, we are playing for the Lord. When we are resting, we are resting for the Lord. It is all for the glory of God.

I sense in my spirit that some of you instantly think of something in your life that you know doesn’t bring glory to God. That is the Holy Spirit prompting you, and the reason He is doing this today is so that you can live in complete freedom.

Will you respond today?

I declare: It’s time to reclaim living with excellence for the glory of God.
